What's selling

Many guitars come and go before I have a chance to list them.
What’s Hot:
Last month I sold two Ashley Sanders lattice braced guitars and two Kim Lissarrague lattice braced guitars and 2003 Simon Marty and 2005 Zbigniew Gnatek. 1968 mint condition Arcangel Fernandez and late 70’s Condé half moon.
I also sell quite a few Steel strings to clients I know. Martin OM28 Marquis and Martin 0018 Authentic, Collings D2H vintage, Greg Beeton Tri cone etc.
If your after a special steel string let me know, the same goes for mandolins and Banjos.

José ( David) Rubio 1965

Rare guitars always seem to arrive in pairs. I had two Hernandez y Aguados last year, two 1960’s Fletas, and now I have two 1965 José ( David) Rubios!
Both Spruce top Brazilian rosewood 650 scale.
Both these guitars are from his finest New York period. The tone is really something special that you only find in great 20th century master built spruce guitars.
Julian Bream chose a 1965 Rubio over his Bouchet and Hauser to record his milestone album “ Music of the 20th century.
When Rubio moved back to the UK in the late 60’s he started making long scale guitars. They are still magnificent concert instruments but weren’t taken up by the Asian market that drove the prices of collectable guitars sky high in the 1990’s therefore you can still pick up a Rubio under $20,000 even a 650 scale one.

Fleta fest

I have two wonderful Fleta guitars in stock at the moment.
One Spruce/ Indian rosewood made in 1962 and the other Spruce/ Brazilian rosewood made in 1966. They are both priced under $50,000US although it’s not unusual to see prices as high as $70,000 US on guitars of this quality.
I’ve done recordings of both. Here are the links 1962, 1966.

It’s interesting to hear the difference, they both have the characteristic Spruce Fleta sound but display subtle differences.
